Founded in 1877, the house of Ruffino concentrates its production of fine wines and extra virgin olive oil in its 7 Tuscan estates, which are all situated in the major DOCG production areas such as Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Classico and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The Ruffino estates extend on 1500 hectares of land with 600 hectares of vineyards and 90 hectares of olive trees. The Ruffino estates embody Tuscany’s viticultural heritage, the strength of its territory and Ruffino’s passion for research and innovation. Here Ruffino continues the pursuit for quality through investments not only in the vineyards and in the cellars, but also in experiments in fine olive oil production and in its olive mill, which is situated on the Santedame Estate. The Santedame Estate can be found close to Castellina in Chianti, in the area west for the village which is known as the “Conca d’Oro” (the golden basin) for its particular soil composition and microclimate, which is perfect for the production of wine and oil. The Santedame Estate holds many treasures, both cultural and viticultural, and the products which bear the Santedame label tell their tail.On this estate the olive cultivation reaches a special, refined quality for the production of the Laudemio di Santedame which is processed in Ruffino’s olive mill, located at “Pianamici” within the Santedame Estate. |
